Thanks. I welded the back part of the body where the gate attaches to on the back of the cab so I can cut the gate down and mount it back on. Kind of hard to explain but you'll see what I'm talking about when I get it done.

Looks good Mark.

Where/Who did your doors. Those look super clean!

Thanks man. I did the doors, lots of work! To much work for a beater. After I get done with the chop I'll paint the whole thing olive drab.:icon_cheers:

Man, I love the doors!!

are you gonna make a hard top or a removable hard-top

I'm cutting the gate in half and mounting it back on. Thats why I cut the back part of the body off and grafted it back on so I could just bolt half the gate back on. I'm going to weld a panel behind the seats that the gate will close on and latch. I'm making the gate quickly removeable so when I want it to be open I can just pop it off.

Here is some more pics of the doors:

Very well done! Those are the best doors ive seen, and thats they way i would have done a chop top too, its the only way that makes sence to me.

Got any pics of how you did the doors?

Thanks man, If you follow the link I provided those are the best pictures I have as of now. I'm in the process of doing the other door now and I'm taking alot more pictures so I'll try to get them posted when I'm done.:icon_thumby:

your trucks making me think too much, ive always wanted to do an extended extended cab with a bench seat in the back. And the pics of your truck are making me think of redesigning how to do it in an easier way then splicing to ranger cabs. Use a BII shell with an extended cab back welded on behind the rear bench, and fill in the missing bits

around the wheel well with bed side pieces, and around the windows with sheet metal...
argh your gonna get me in trouble.

I've thought about making a real clean looking 4 door 1st gen for probably ten years. The problem is I got way to many other projects and doing that much work would never be worth it in the long run. After all the work if you went to sell it you still wouldn't get shit for it because its a still a ranger! Someday when I'm old and run out of shit to do I'll try to tackle it.

Lookin great man, that things changed just a bit since Wellsville the other year. Do you think you could send me a couple pics of your trac-bar bracket also at some point? I remember really likeing how you set it up and I may be getting close to there in the next month or two...
