Good Morning. I have a 1993 Ranger with a 4.0litre. It is making a chirping noise at idle and when driving down the road. I have seen similar posts but they all seem to say that the chirp only happens when driving and not at an idle in park. I have seen other posts saying it may be the cam synchronizer but my chirp is in the front of the engine and the synchronizer is in the back of the engine. I have already changed the idler pulley and am about to change the tensioner pulley and belt. Anything else I could be looking for as the culprit? Thanks in advance.

Just pop the belt off... engine cold... and fire it up.

No chirp... your parts list will cover it.

Still chirps.... keep looking.

The belt could be dry rotted in one spot if it has sat for a while, if all else fails, get some belt dressing or replace the belt.

Yes, I will change the tensioner pulley and the belt and see what happens.
