Iv got a 4x4 ranger with a 3.0 lifted on 33's. It doesn't have any power anymore lol  I have a cold air intake but that about it. I'm thinking about putting in a chip but I know anything about them. I haul trailors often. I dont want to burn up the motor or tranny. :annoyed:

yea, if its the factory gear ratio then it will not like 33's.. chips are a waste of money, most are fake and just designed to trick you engine by bypassing a sensor.

iv already got 4:10 gears and what sensor does it bypass?

Honestly, those chips are a waste of time and money. A tuner is better, allows for future changes and you can change back to stock with a push of a button if you so desire.

Mabye a tuner is what I was thinking about, what do they do to the motor? Will it hurt parts?

All a tuner does is change engine parameters. Changing engine parameters allow that nice new turbo you put on to realize its full potential. It does not harm a stock engine and can benefit it by changing shift points if you have an auto or changing the ignition timing to allow you to run a higher octane gas and maximize the benefits of running a higher octane. Things like that.

At this time I will dryly say the old saying:

There is no replacement for displacement.

But your complaint isn't actually about "power" you don't feel power

you can perceive power, what you feel a lack of is TORQUE.

And the simple reality is that the 3.0 doesn't have it

Don't mess with anything as you will ruin your computer system if you don't know what you are doing. You can get a programmable computer tuner and that will help add some more power. They work way better then a chip will work. I know several buddy's who have used the programmable tuner set up and they love them. Superchips is one of a few names out there. Around $300 or so for one. Plug and play features.
