"Power chips" are bullsh!t. They don't do what they say they will. Only a proper tuner will increase power, but it will come at the cost of fuel economy.
If you have an automatic trans a programmer will help the trans shift more intelligently.
I have a superchip tuner in my F-150, on tow-haul it shifts like it means it without being too harsh and at more logical RPM's.
I didn't notice an RPM hit but the truck is much nicer to drive.![]()
I am talking about a chip, like the G-force unit. You know the ones that just get put inline with the wires from the IAT or the MAF.
You are talking about an actual proper tuner. Tuners are good and can have a noticeable impact. They are also a lot more expensive.
