Hey not sure if this is the right place for this but anyways. new to this platform and fourm but not new to modifying cars or workin on cars . Don't normally post unless I'm absolutely stuck, normally just sit back and read and research till I fill my head with info haha. Anyways just picked up a 94 mazda b4000 4x4 and am doing the poor mans pick n pull / used part build. Got a bunch of stuff off craigs list and internet to do 4" lift all the way around.
Ok so Decided to start with the rear. I got chevy 63/64 leafs (actually measure 62" eye to eye with no load on them) from the yard and some used belltech 6400. Shackles from dezert rangers. Read all the info on moving shackle foward wich won't be a problem . I'm not gonna flip it just want the lift for now would rather get rid of stock 4x4 blocks if I could but don't think I'll be able to without sitting lower in the rear. So did read something about bolt holes being different but not sure if that's different based on years cuz my bolt holes on belltech shackle and chevy leaf are measuring the same as a James duff shackle and leaf bushing for my year mazda so seems like it would work fine? If someone could verify that? Of course the bushings for a ranger won't work in the chevy leafs ( found that out if any one wants brand new set of James duff shackle and leaf bushings let me know haha)
Sorry for the rambling.. So here's the main question I want to replace the worn out bushings with urathane in the chevy leafs and belltech shackles. What is the proper kit for each one? It seems that the kits I see for the chevy leafs will leave that outer sleeve in place on the leaf wich doesn't look like it will fit in the shackle. I think a 1.7 outer diameter (or 43 mm) bushing will work with the sleeve removed but can't find the right size or the manufactures don't say size? Any body got suggestions or replaced thier chevy leaf bushings ? And the belltech shackles? Is there a urathane replacement for those or you have to get from belltech ? I did find this some from "off road design " they seem like they would work but are $90 and not sure if they even come with the shackle bushing or would even fit ? Any other alternatives? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and sorry for long post.
