I haven't been able to get super active on the boards yet, haven't even made myself an introduction in the forums or set up any of my stats, but I'll be working on it. I've been doing a little interior modding, painting, etc.. and here is what I've done so far..

- Explorer Buckets (without holes) both power, manual lumbar (dyed to match"
- PIE adapter for IPOD (charges/plays same time)
- Explorer Console (painted) Modded for ipod
- FX4 Manual shifter and boot
- SILVER gauge cluster, not white :)
- Explorer bezel, painted with 2 cig lighters and 2 fog lamps buttons (for later)
- Auto Page 525 LCD 2 way remote alarm
- Explorer OHC

I LOVE the Ipod with the stock stereo. It sounds incredible, charges my Ipod, and does not hinder my cd player. It works amazing. I can still completely open my console cubby, and since the wiring is behind everything, it's very clean.

I have some pictures I took along the way I might post later in the thread if anyone is curious to how I ran it/my wiring. I have it wired so it only will charge the IPOD when the car is running. I can retract the cord in and out of the armrest holder up to about the first cupholder. So while driving, I can flip the armrest up, grab the ipod, and bring it closer to me, then the cord will push itself back in and I can reset it on the velcro!

.. I think that's it, maybe have forgotten stuff. More stuff later for sure! here are some pics!

Very nice! The seats look great and the silver cluster is awesome looking

I like it, look nice.

The explorer seats, what year did they come out of, should I look for particular model or are they all the same ?

Is the Center Console from the same ex ?

Stock steering wheel?

Looks very nice. I need to find a donor explorer.

Thanks guys!

Yes, stock steering wheel.

The seats came from a two door door explorer, I did that so it folds down and I can easily have access to the back. There are a few different leather seats that came from explorers, some are like this, and some have the holes. I don't really dig the ones with the holes, so I held out till I found these seats. The seats and the console cost me 50 bucks, and another 70 bucks for the leather dye.

looks really great I like it. What did you use for your cluster & what type of paint for you bezel?

looks really great I like it. What did you use for your cluster & what type of paint for you bezel? Did the gauge cluster mount right in or did you have to do any modifying? My ranger is 4x4 so I'd have to get a cluster out of a 4x4 inorder for the indicator lights to work.

looks awesome!!! i really like it, specially the silver bezel and the fx shifter, now u need some power windows and call it done:cool:
and jason: its mostly a plug and play swap, but yeah u need it from a 4wd for the indicator lights.
i believe that in the tech library ull find a how-to for the odometer, cuz i need to replace it with your current one

thanks for the info. I'll have to check into it. Last time I was at the salvage yard I wanted to pull the cluster on a sporttrack but wasn't sure if it would work. Looks like I'll do it now.

sport trac will do:icon_thumby: mine came from a sport trac a o3 if not mistaken, and works fine, it has the 4wd indicators tho :D

yeah the sport trac I was looking at is 4wd also so it should be good? Can I use a cluster from any year as long as its 4wd? Was the cluster a pain to pull & install or not to bad?
