Bloody EVAP.

So, before I go looking for any cracked hoses, anyone want to give me something to look for. Neck Hose? Do I have to drop the Gas Tank? I doubt it is the canister since those rarely give out. What is the most common thing that makes this go off? Can it be as simple as replacing the gas cap?

Some extra info. One time, It was raining after a humid day, and I was driving off a empty lot. Me being a stupid college student, decided to step on the gas and drift around the parking lot:headbang:. After that, I noticed the light came off. Three days later, it came back on.

The light originally came on after I put one of those STP Fuel cleaners (regret). I doubt that has anything to do with it since if that caused it, it would be out of the system by now. Hope this helps.

it can be a simple as replacing the gas cap. if that doesn't keep the light off then move on to the evap valve near the canister which should be behind the driver's side headlight.. if that doesn't work .. then the evap solenoid which is nearest the canister. check the vac lines first for leaks!

Allright, It's war. This damn CEL is pissing me off. So I changed the Purge Valve, only to have it turn back on late at night the next day. So, from here, where do I go guys? I haven't changed the fuel cap since I doubt the gas cap can be bad. The hoses running from the canister looked fine to me, but I may have to take them off and check to see if they are not damaged from the the ends.

I read that the next part to check is the Solenoid. Excuse my stupidity, but is this the white sensor that is between the canister and the Purge Valve?

light on

change out your gas cap next..............

The solenoid is a common failure. A vehicle inspection station can check your gas cap.:)shady
