Ok im driving down the road today and my check engine light comes on. I just lifted my truck a week ago so i figure it has something to do with that. Anyways i stopped and did a quick inspection and noticed on the drivers side above my wheel well there are some lines and hoses coming into a box that says 4x4 on it. One of the hose has come attached and is to short to put back together. I took a rubber hose and attched it to both ends because i have no clue what this hose is for? There is no fluid or electical lines running through it so im not sure if its just some type of vent hose or vacume hose. I could use some help with this cause i sure dont want to tear anything up.

That would be a wonderful description of your issue, previous work, and other relevant/needed information, if you had told us anything about your truck.

If you have a 2000ish truck, that line is probably for your PVH 4x4 hubs and causing a vacuum leak, which in turn caused your check engine light.

Ok i think i figured it out i believe its a line that is hooked into a censor for my abs brakes. I know the plastic hose runs into a roundish thing that has sometihng todo with the brakes. Sorry im not being percise, but i just dont know what all the things are called.
