I want to make my own cowl hood because i cannot find a company that makes them for a ranger since everybody seems to worship s10's for some reason like a 350 is the greatest gift to all mankind lol. Any suggestions on where to purchase one from? Bolt on? Weld on? im tryin to get a 4 inch cowl but tryna stay easy on the wallet as well

if you can weld just cut down either side of the hood bend it up and weld in filler strips......it will take awhile and be a pain to get it "pretty" but it wont cost much so long as you can weld and have the metal layin around.

go to summitracing.com and they have metal weld in cowl induction hood scoops for really cheap. just measure the length of the scoop that you want.

Cheap and easy? Take the hood off. Of course, then you REALLY have to have somethign good in that engine bay instead of just pretending you do.

lol i hear ya!...yea thats prolly what i will end up doing. I found a couple on jegs or what not and checked out the website above has some pretty good prices.

well im glad i could be of some assistance. once you get it put on you need to post us a couple pics.

torch, bondo and card board, you can do the rest

For a Gen3, a Fox body cowl scoop has the same lines. About 8" too long, but it's a good fit.

yea i looked i guess ill just measure and purchase a scoop off of jegs and do a little bit of cuting to get it right...im trying to get one that comes all the way to the windshield and then runs parallel with it until it meets back at the base of the hood...4 in 6 in???
