Cheap Torque converters?

Any one here know were to get the cheapest t/c?
Also a lot of people are telling me to go to a junk yard, is this a bad idea? I know that going to a junk yard, or buying from craigslist is a coin toss, but what are you experiences? Best deal I can find is 170$ w/core charge for rebuilt at partsamerica.85' 4spd auto

I wouldn't cheap out on a torque, if it fails it will take out the transmission most likely as it will sens a pile of aluminum throughout the tranny. I'd just get the reman unit and be done with it. I know at work we get all our tranny parts from TCS

Your right i like my work to be good and a cheap one in that area is a big risk, if it goes bad, better off having a bit of peace of mind, thanks for the advice.

i got my reman from oriellys for 125.00 about 2 weeks ago. i would check there if one is in your area
