I am going to drop my tranny this weekend to swap out my sticky slave cylinder. My truck has a good clutch in it, so besides that is there anything else I should change while I have the tranny down?

Also, will a fuel rail/ line tool work to dissconnect the hydrolic line, or do I need a special tool for that?

Thanks

You don't need a special tool, but it sometimes makes it easier. Here are some pics. You push the white clip in and pull the line out.

I would change the fluid while your under there. And, inspect the clutch and make it is in fact 'good'

a clutch set is less than $200...for the amount fo work involved pulled the transmission, why not just replace the clutch? how do you know its the slave cylinder sticking? maybe its the pressure plate....

Ya depending on the last clutch change, I would definitely swap it out. Even if it doesnt need it, you will thank us when it comes to drop it again if it would happen to go. Also, if you don't plan to resurface the flywheel, leave the clutch thats in there now. I didnt resurface mine one time and I had to do it all over again not even a year later. Now that I have, I dont have enough fingers and toes to count the times its been wet, slipped, warped, etc and it still grabs half way up releasing the pedal and will not slip under its own power. Just some friendly advise.
