Changing injectors

Well going to try to get the ranger running right. I believe the injectors are bad. Thought about putting in the 5.0 injectors. Is there any mods I have to do to get them to work properly? does ecu need to be reprogrammed?

No reprogramming is neccessary, but if the tops are the same color as what you have now, your wasting your time as they are the same injector...Ford injectors go by color to identify them, not what vehicle they were in...most Ford injectors (with the exception of import style) will interchange....

I plan on going with the 19lb injectors that are standard on the 5.0 v-8. These are what are suggested in Kunz corner. Just wanted to make sure it was just a swap issue. Can I reuse the bolts from the covers, or shouold they be replaced like they are in the removal of the head? Also i am assuming gaskets should be replaced at this time as well?

If you are not doing an overhaul, and are just replacing injectors, all you have to do is remove the upper intake plenum to get to the injectors and no, bolt replacement is not neccessary, only head bolts are recommended replacement because they are under extreme heat and pressure from cylinder compression

ok, thanks!!! I hope to get the cash up soon to buy the injectors. Found some remans on ebay. He will buy my old ones as well. So will go from there!

I put some 19lb injectors in my 2.9, and it ran pig rich. Took them out and put the stockers back in.
