Hello I changed my water-pump a few days ago after doing that and starting it up the trans was acting weird shifting all over the place. so pop the hood and turns out I broke the Throttle Position Sensor in half. So yesterday I went and picked up the TPS sensor from auto zone for 15bucks. Now it feels as if my truck has a CVT trans, its shifts super smooth that it might not even be shifting. when sitting at the red light I'm idling at 900rpms when I go doesn't matter if I floor it or drive normal she just stays at 2600rpms and shifts thru all the gears(you can barely feel anything no rpm drop no feeling gears shift) doesn't move off of 2600rpms also If I Floor it she wont downshift and when putting her in reverse she takes probably 5-10 secs before she goes in gear. I don't know whats up I can unplug the throttle sensor and she will shift wrong but she shifts period and she will down shift lol. :shok:

Anyone have this crap before?

couldn't get to the 2 bolts that hold the tps on so I took the whole throttle body off and installed the new tps, pulled the battery let it sit for 30mins and that was it....but everything is replugged in and tighten tight... im just stuck with a trans thats not shifting right for 2 days now since i changed the water pump..

Usually the TPS has an adjustment feature where you "tune" it in by rotating the TPS before tightening the mounting bolts. The TPS tells the computer when the throttle is closed so the computer can then switch to the IAC to control idle. If the TPS is not adjusted correctly then the volt/resistance readings will be off in relation to the throttle opening and feedback to the engine computer will be wrong. I'd get a manual that describes proper installation of the TPS.

well I did call a friend that owns a shop and he said my tps isnt adjustable just bolts on.. but ill go get a manual or something and check it out... could it be the bolts are to tight?? the 2 screws that were in it where shot i couldnt get the old tps off had to use a easy out then I thru some screws with bolt heads and lock washers and tightened her down nice and tight....

If the TPS is non-adjustable then it may have a location tab that mates to a notch in the throttle body, and not just positioned by the mounting bolts. A $15 TPS sounds like aftermarket cheap crap as these things can easily run $100-$200.
