changed the fluid

ok so i got stuck in the river a while back, anyways i changed the tranny case fluid, it wasent milky or anything but anyway i changed it, filled it back to its full level and it sounds like a chain or something is jumping teeth, any idea on how to fix it, trying to get a new transfercase but if i can find a cheap way of fixing it i will fix it, i changed that stupid cv joint thing on the driveshaft where it meets with the tcase thinking it might be wore out but no luck, its make this noise since i got the truck, lotta snow on the ground and i hate driving it like it is.

sorry for the delay.
if it's the chain, the only way to repair it is to pull the transfer case off and crack it open. you can then disassemble it and repair the chain if needed. if you sank it in water...that shouldnt do much to it so i would assume there's something mechanically wrong. i know mine clunks and we rebuilt it.

best thing to do is try for a new one/junkyard special and then you can take to old one apart, find anything wrong and have spare parts if you ever need it.

transfer case is ver yeasy to diassemble, pull the guts apart and reassemble. just keep notes of what goes where if you cant remember and in what order they came out.

and the other post about the flange/yoke........ you should be able to unbolt them and interchange them if they are different.
