look, im just getting sick and tired of everyone ragging on chevy and calling this guy an idiot. ok so compare a 351 to a 350 for all i care. and just to let you know, ive built more than on ford engine and more than one chevy engine so when i post, i know from personal experiance, not just something written on the internet.

eveyones opinion of chevy comes for the one car or truck you owned that was a pos, needed everything, and gave you hell. but along camew the one ford that just happened to be a good runner, and screw chevy it where its at, ford rules.

for the most part, like the "oh why are you putting a chevy engine in a ford truck" crap i dont care. but when people are on this kid for changing his mind, it it just pisses me off.

its his truck, he stated he did not want to do the 4.6 swap, he is not knowledgable on this swap and doesnt have a clue what parts cost, so hes going with something he knows how to do

the common response from people SHOULD be "well whatever works man, have fun building it and post lots of pics" instead there arguing back and forth, and its not even there truck.

bobbywalter, your right, i shouldnt get involved cause then i just come out like a jack ass. but im just tired of the whole ford versus chevy debate. i mean grow up. there just hunks of cast iron for gods sake.

I just like vehicles, I have owned 2 Dodges, 2 Fords and 2 Chevies........ at the same time for most of my driving career. Ranging from a chevy flat be dually, a cummins sled puller spraying water meth, 2 Camaro's, 3 rangers, and 2 F-250's, oh and a D-50 which I still have.

Now I have one chevy, one dodge, and 2 Rangers.
If I did any engine swap, it'd be a built 350 and a th-350 or a 6bt 12 valve with an NV-4500 because they are so easy (the 350 though, because I have them in droves for my drag car)
Being brand specific just limits your potential for enjoyment.

He's the one that is saying Ford sucks because he couldn't complete his 4.6L swap.

It's a swap I'd be reluctant to do, I know it would take a long time for me to get it done, so I went with a 5.0L because I knew I wasn't going to biting off more than I could chew. It's a very do-able swap, and I am not a professional by any means. Just about any small block V8 is going to be fun in these trucks. I've only driven 10 miles so far (yesterday was my first drive), but I am up and running.

Just ignore the comments and stick to your guns. You're going to drop a 350 in your Ranger? Great, now get it done.

Lots of people are getting tired of the 50 year old debate. What ever works is good enough. They used to throw the Flatheads in a lot of the early Cheby's The whole being of this site to help people with whatever they want. How many people really complained when someone wanted to put a Buick motor in his?
