Hi all! Glad to be here!

I have recently decided to do some work on my truck, I must admit, her breaking down on me was a big deciding factor!! :bawling: I looked for months to find her and I'm going to get her back in top shape! 2000 2.5L (rather have had a newer 2.3DOHC) 5spd, extcab, power W/L/B/and steering with cruise, buckets... :yahoo:

I'm looking for advice on Timing belt/Clutch/Fuel pump work/parts/what to avoid. I have usually done most of my own work, but never really got too indepth with the newer vehicles, and I must admit, changing a trany on a late 70's Mavrick is a whole lot different than the computers/sensors/Etc that are tucked into almost every corner of a vehicle today!

I have been looking around but haven't seen any stickies about Parts sources, Like the best place to get Fuel pumps for 'starters' (Cus SHE isn't gonna without a new one!) is 260 bucks what they cost? OUCH!

Any help woulkd be really appreciated!

Mike

Well I'll jump in and Welcome you! I tend to go to one of the "good" NAPA stores in town for most parts. If you need just the pump itself, ought to run less that $130, $260 sounds like the complete drop-in assembly. Got the Ford shop manual for the 2000 if you would ever need some assistance. Working on a Mavrick - welcome to the new generation of problems. Used the 8" rear out of a Mavrick for my first swap 30 years ago.

Thanks Dave!

I joined up on the Helminc.com website, 3 days for 10 bucks and I'm printing out just about everything. LOL

Thanks for the welcome!
