Center console choices?

I have a regular center console out of an Explorer with the same interior color scheme as my Ranger, and it's out of an automatic.

This however, means that when I have something in the drivers side cupholder I can't shift into 2nd and when I have something in the passenger side I can't get to reverse!

I saw a picture of someone's Ranger on here (can't remember when/where/who) but their center console looked almost the same, except the cupholders sat a lot lower and it went all the way up to connect under the dash. It went all the way around the shifter, enclosing the shifter boot and everything.

Did older Explorer's with a manual transmission come with a different center console? Or was this some custom fab work? I got the center console from a junkyard, for like $10 IIRC. Changing it out isn't a big deal to me, and I can always re-sell it on eBay or to someone else on here. Just trying to get some cupholders that I can use while I'm driving!

03Fx4 that's exactly what I was talking about! What is that from?

I do believe its from a 96-01 style exploder its my buddies truck ill have to see if he remembers what year the SUV was we pulled it outta. Just remember you might be trying to do something that isnt a straight swap cause my buddies truck is a 97 not a 91 and the dashes are different for one and you never know if the shifter sits a little farther back in the 91 I would do some measuring(junkyard works) and start there if they are the same it might be the dashes that stick out more (or dont stick out more depends how you look at it) But Ill help as much as I can over the internet

Okay thanks. I'll def give it a shot. The hard part will be finding a manual explorer... then I have to find one with a console... might have a gander on e-bay and just splurge for it.

That one was from an auto we just cut the storage cubbys out to make a ring that would hold the neoprene in place
