cb radio

agreed, radios are exceptionally important... i'm looking at getting a 75w vhf radio right now... the areas we 4x4 in don't have cell reception, so we are stuck out there if something happens... last time i was out, we got stuck in 4 feet of snow for several hours, then ran into other problems as soon as we got out, such as flat tires, engines over heating, trail disappearing completely under drifts of snow... out run lasted an extra 7 hours, and people at home were worried because we didn't come home... i was expecting to be home by 5-6, i got home at 2am, luckly no one was waiting for me to get home, but some people i was out with have families or pets that depend on them...

cb's are very good because they are cheap, you can get a setup for a vehicle for well under 100$ i got my first setup about 2 years ago for under 50... still use the same radio, though i have upgraded the antenna since then
