cat question

my girl friends cat is not eating or drinking...and s kind of mopeing around like some one got killed.....any ideas on why she is not drinking or eating or as friendly as she use to be?

Our cat did that a while back. Turns out she had a piece of chicken grissel stuck in her throat. We were about to take her to the vet when she finally horked it up and was fine.

Could the cat have gotten into some chemicals or something?

Get her to a vet ASAP. It could just be something minor, but anytime an animal is behaving like that, it could be a number of serious issues. If the cat can get into a garage or any place where there may be harmful chemicals like antifreeze, then don't let it.

less than a year old....we will...dont think it got into any thing...indoor cat...never been oout

My cat did that a few months ago. He would just mope around and sleep all the time. He wasn't active and hardly ate anything at all. After taking him to the vet it turns out he had a severe fever. After meds he was back to his old self and very active.

our dog is doing that since we moved, its depressed and wont eat, untill we take it back to the old neighbor hood then it chows down, its psycho, and its a garbage gut which dont make since, and its a german shephard dobbie mix

i was living with my girl friend durrin the winter wile my place was under snow.....but i left about 2 months ago....it just started to do it over the weekend....i have a feeling that her brother fell on it

OK, When my wife and I moved in to a new place together one of her cats started doing that. Cats don't always do well to a change in surroundings or having a new person in the house. I was just curious if something had changed in the cats environment to upset it.

Yeah I had one of my cats had literally a heart attack and died 4 days after my 2nd child was born.No joke,it was a nervous cat to begin with and the added stress of someone new was enough to push him over the edge.RIP bandit

Ask a vet. NOW.

Cats do not take well to a few days of starvation, even if it's just because it caught a virus.

This could be a sign of just about any stressor, from a new smell in the house to a serious disease.
