hey i got a 2000 ranger with a magnaflow cat back exhaust i was wondering what d i do about a catilytic converter should i hollow it out or get a high flow one? any sugestions

Even supercharged applications run fine with the stock set up. The only differences from a hollowed cat to a properly operating cat are obnoxious eye watering fumes and enhanced mono-tone drone. Save your cash and purchase a set of headers along with an Xcal. Since your truck is 2wd, post up the axle code or gear ratio you have. Regearing one axle isn't going to bust the bank too much, but the performance gain (depending on your current ratio) might be a good investment.

A word of advice though, a 3.0L is only so much. I did a LOT of work to my old 3.0L and it still didn't compare to my now stock 4.0L V6. I ran crane 1.7:1 rocker arms, a ported intake and ported heads. Headers, ignition... yea, it was really cool at first because NO ONE had done that much to a 3.0L and later I figured out why.

If the catalytic converter is not broken and is functioning fine than you don't need to do anything about it. They do not hinder performance in the least, if they did the new mustangs and camaros and corvettes would not be able to make 400 HP with them in place. So if they are functioning properly don't do anything and if there is something wrong with one of them replace it.

Any questions as to why feel free to PM me or any other staff member.
