My catalytic is resting on my x-member. I've tried prying it up with a screwdriver to elevate it but minutes later it comes back down. Rattling like a banshee. A co-worker told me to wedge a big wad of foil but it came off after driving. Is there anything I could use around the house? eg. piece of wood wrapped in metal/foil, chicken wire strap etc. Anything?

get a clamp and a hanger from wal-mart or autozone, cost bout 10 bucks an it'll hold it up

Mine does this too, I drove a (door stop, shaped piece of wood between it) lasted about a week and fell out, I've just gotten used to it (just rev it a little when people are around and it takes the rattle out)

how about a old newspaper, should be abotu the right width:icon_twisted:

is it posible your motor mounts and tranny mount are toast and letting the motor sag down enuff to cause this? or a broken or worn out exuast hanger?

I cant think of anything I would stuff in there, cats get freaking hot.And you dont want a fire hazard on wheels do you? look over yoru truck and find out why it has saged down.
