so, like a week ago i was driving to school during a rain, like one of those rains where it rains allllll dayyyy longgggg, any ways i get to school and the passanger side floor is wet, like a puddle. i didnt have time to look at it (finals) anyway i get to it today and the bottom side like the padding is still soaked its currently under a heater to dry

the bad part is i have no idea where its coming from. my plan is to dry it out and bedline the floor under the carpet to hopefully fix it.

anyone else have this problem? i can not figure this one out

The HVAC plenum has a drain hole.
Sounds like yours is plugged up.

You'll need to get underneath the firewall (under the hood part, not in the cab) in order to see that drain.

The best solution is to remove the heater blower and clear all the debris from the plenum. I believe you will need to remove the coolant and WS washer reservoirs' mount bolts to get the blower out.

I do this periodically and flush all the debris out with a garden hose after pulling out the bulk of debris. The hose will let you verify the drain hole is clear. You'll find a lot of debris stuck in the corner.

Bedlining the floor won't fix a heater plenum leak.

yeah, if its coming from the top bedlining certainly wont. you think you could get me a picture of what your talking about? from what i read, just take out the coolant and washer resivour to get to the blower, what does it look like.

I would bedline the floor anyways while the carpet is out.

When you look at the passenger side of the firewall, under the hood, you see the big Bob Marley-lookin' black plastic plenum where the two heater hoses go into the firewall?

The drain is in the bottom of THAT, still in the engine bay, visible from underneath the truck.

The blower is that big honkin' huge round pimple sticking into the engine bay. If you can't find THAT, turn the key to Run, turn the heater to Floor and turn the fan on high. You'll hear it.

okay, i had to take out the washer fluid containers and airbox out but i got the blower out, there were alot of leaves in there, but not a whole lot, i think i found the drain for the thing. what i found was right below it and it look like a nipple sticking out of the firewall. i stuck a screw driver in it, and got no resistance so i dont think anything is in it,

i then took out the plug looking deal next the blower and found more leaves, im about to vaccum it out.

heres a pic of what im talking about

i dried it out reallly good then it rained again and i kept the heat off so im thinking im going to take out the carpet and bedline it, anybody recomend a bedliner that will seal floor good, if its a good texture i might coat my sub box with it instead of carpet it

I had the same problem and couldnt find the leak for NOTHING.

then i noticed a stream going down the back glass when it was raining. come to find out the front floor boards are the lowest areas in the cab.

Check your back glass seal. Its not hard to reseal it has your truck is still bolt in style.

I would use this instead of bedliner inside. I used this everywhere in my cab.

yeah im going to take my carpet out for about a week and see if i cant find the source. then seal, i was trying to find something other than bedliner aswell, i was thinking about flex seal, you know that stuff you see on tv? its like 20 bucks fr 2 cans so i might try it.
