Ok, so i just finished dropping in my 302 and got it running. but the choke on my truck avenger carb keeps sticking, and keeps the motor revved up. as soon as it starts up it runs at about 2000 rpm and will stay there as long as the motor is running. what do i have to adjust to fix this? i'm new to carbs so could be missing something obvious.

And just as a side note, its not the idle adjustment screw because i can turn the choke off by hand and the engine will idle at 800 no problem

Make it a manual choke if you can. One thing that will help peolpe is what kind of carb., the specs on it and the brand.

its a holley truck avenger carb

loosen the screws on the choke assemble. the round black thing on the side of the car. and rotate it counter clockwise untill you see the choke start to open. then tighten the screws back up.

make sure to do this when the choke is on, meaning with the engine cold, pump the gas to kick in the choke, then set it.

cool, i'll try that.
