On the motor craft 2150 carb. What causes it to overflow at idle? And what is the little BB looking weight for?

Leaky needle and seat or a sunk float as mentioned above. Can't rule out fuel pressure either.

The bb weight if typically used as a check valve in the accelerator pump circuit.

Thank you guys, I have been trying to get this truck running well so I can decide what to do with it.

Would the float set to hi make run rich or flood when I put a load on the engine ( try to drive)

With the float level too high... it will be rich in all modes.

What are you using for a fuel pump?

Most carbs will only handle 3 to 7 lbs of fuel pressure.

With it running at idle... looking down the throat... is it dripping fuel from the venturies
