For all of you Deadliest Catch fans, I was deeply saddened to hear that Capt Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie passed away after suffering a stroke. Still can't believe he's gone...

I saw the news when I logged onto Windows Live on my computer a few days ago. I wonder how Deadliest Catch is going to be without him and how well his sons are going to handle the boat.

I somewhat suspect that Murray Gamrath will come out of retirement to skipper the boat. The Harris boys just aren't experienced or responsible enough.

Also, while Phil was probably my favorite captain, second only to Johnathan Hillstrand, I've kinda been wondering how much time he was left for a few years now, ever since his decisions immediately following the storm that made him throw the clot in his lung.

When a guy thinks he has a collapsed or punctured lung and his first few decisions are to 1) light up a new cig, 2) pop another red bull top, and 3) fish for another week before getting into a hospital, you kinda gotta wonder how long he is gonna live.

I gotta agree on the thought of him not being well. Ever since that punctured lung thing, he'd been "slipping" a little all the time. Still pretty sad about him passing away though.

I didn't mean to say otherwise.
