so I have 87 ranger with the 2.9. when the truck gets warm either running down the road or warming up it just dies. it starting doing this a lil while ago. so far I've done plugs wires cap and rotor just b/c it needed a tune up. and b/c of this issue I just got done replacing the tfi module the old one was corroded and it still just. any suggestions would be much helpful thanks

Just a guess. Chech your idle air control valve. Disconect it and check it with an ohm meter. Posative lead to the vpwr terminal. Should read 7 to 13 ohms.

I'll check that out in the morning im runing out of ideas what would be effected by heat. because im positive its spark related. im still getting fuel and it doesn't even sputter when it dies it just shuts down like you turn the key off. then you have to wait for it to cool down a little then you can start it back up.
