It's not getting something: Spark/Air/Fuel

Could be a bad fuel pump or fuel filter.

or

Bad coil pack.

or

Dirty/restricted air filter.

I'd start with the cheap and easy stuff: Fuel & air filters and go from there.

why would it be the fuel pump.??? i was always under the impression that one fuel pumps go bad they go bad and dont work at all

Generally. And you're probably right with the new electric pumps. Used to the mechanical pumps would wear out and not keep up with the needs of the engine. I assume the same could happen on the electric pumps, but I could be wrong...

hmm interesting ...does anyone else want to chime in...im wondering if it is possible that the fuel pump isnt supplying enough fuel for full throttle when you slam it to the floor

It could be the fuel pump

Yes they can slowly go bad. Had it happen on a '95 Towncar. Wouldn't have beleived it, but sounds similar to what you have going on.

I would opt for the fuel filter first though. A lot cheaper.

since you changed plugs and wires. what kind did you use and did you make sure none of the wires were melted from exhaust manifold by accident.

ya he used autolite dbl platt and i think accel wires. we jsut ordered a new ignition coil so maybe thatll fix it. its definately gettin plenty of fuel, it more like a mis fire. i rode with him today and it jsut sorta shakes the whole truck

how about a clogged cat????...btw i am having the same exact issue on my truck buddy so ur not alone.still on the search to figure out the problem

well thats good that it wasn't more than a cracked plug. saved alot of money there

how did you know could u see the crack or did u just replace them? thanks

spray down all the wires with water n saw the spark run down the boot on to the plug pulled it and saw it was cracked id you can see a spark its a bad wire or plug
