can you replace an ald4 with a new 5R55W

Can anyone help, i need to know if i can upgrade my ald4 trans in 94 ranger 4x2
to a newer 5r55w that is out of a 4x4?? Can i just take the transfer case off and put my tail shaft in ist place???

No, swapping output shafts requires disassembling the entire transmission. And once you do that, you need to figure out how to make it shift since it's completely electronically controlled.

In short, it won't work. Oh, and it's A4LD, not ald4.
