Can someone school me on the valve train

That would absolutely be my suggestion. 2.9's are cheap. Worst case, find another motor from a wrecked truck and throw it in there when it actually dies. There's really no reason to open them up at all.

Ok I have another question. I can't find my camera so I cant put a picture up. Where the throttle cable connects to the throttle body, there is, what apears to be some kind of vacuum actuator, and there is an open "plug", that blows air out when engine is running. It looks like there was a hose over it at one point. Where would it go? Maybe the cruise control?

Dang the picture is smaller than i thought.
Can someone school me on the valve train

At the throttle body I can't think of what you're describing. There is a vacuum actuator for cruise on the fender with a second throttle cable going to the throttle body. At the TB itself... Idle air controller? TPS? Check the vacuum diagram on the core support. Without a photograph I'm a bit unclear on what you're seeing.

I put a smallllll pic up so maybe(doubtful) you can see what I mean.

That's part of the EGR. What connects to it? No idea.

Maybe a vaccum line? I've never had an RBV with an EGR system...

Thanks. That helps sort of. Now I need to find out what it goes to.

Did you look for the vacuum diagram on the core support?

Yes and it doesn't really show where this one goes. But I'll go look again, now that I know it's part of the EGR. I'm new to these little motors and just looking for some guidance from the experts. All I know are 5.0s, 3.0s, and 2.3s.

Still no idea where it goes. Can someone look at their truck and see where it goes?

So not one person on here knows dick about where this goes?

Goddamn this forum sucks. Now I remember why I quit coming here when I had my last Ranger. Worthless e-wheelers.

Ouch. Not cool.

Go to a fawking junkyard and find a truck just like yours, and see where the line goes. Or getting a fawking service manual.
