So I got a deal on a 93 Explorer A4ld 4x4 trans and transfer case and it just so happens I have an 89 Bronco 2 in need of a new trans.

My question is this: Will this 93 trans simply plug and play in my 89 B2?

Should work fine.

Think you going to run into linkage issues. That transmission was designed for cable shift, with a few mods you can make the linkage work..

I have never heard anything about the shift linkages being different. What do I need to look into?

If you have a floor shift in your bronco it has a solid rod that connects the shifter to trans, the expo trans was designed for column shift with a cable. If you have a column shift you should be all good, if not what I did in my 88, I cut the top part of the linkage from the bronco trans and welded it to the top part of the expo trans..

Phantom, he has an 89. That was the first year for column shift.

My bad, skipped over the the "89" part.. Should work fine as stated..

Thank for helping me out guys and for helping me get to know my trans a bit better.
