I have a complete gasket kit for a lima engine, but I'm not sure if it's for a 2.0 or a 2.3 or what. The kit has the part number E4TZ-6079-D on it and inside are the following #s:

E27E-6051-A1A (head gasket, not sure what size tho)
E27E-9439-AA (intake mani gasket)
D8EE-9E436-AA (not sure...four bolt holes and one larger hole in the middle)
E27E-9447-AA (not sure...one large hole, 2 bolt holes)
D7TE-9C477-AB (not sure...looks similar to above)

There's also a cork valve cover gasket and a bag of valve seals and (I believe) camshaft seals.

Any help would be great, thanks!

Well, that sounds like a 2.3 gasket set...but it could be for the 2.0...there is usually a few extras in the box for different carbs though (like a rebuild kit)...I had one in my garage for about two years before I finally tossed it because most of the gaskets were for FI engines...

But you can tell pretty quick...are the holes in the intake gasket round or oval or D-shaped?

The round ones are definately for the 2.0...the oval and D-shape are for 2.3 (they only sold the 2.0 version between 87-88 in Canada and they were all carbed)...

You can also measure the holes in the head gasket for the pistons...the specs are under the sticky for the Lima engine and the 2.0 are slightly smaller than the 2.3 pistons...but you can use a 2.3 gasket on a 2.0 engine...just a bit of extra space around the edge...

But if you really must know just call a ford dealership as WS suggested...

E4=1984
E2=1982
D8=1978
D7=1977
Thats all I have...

call up your local ford dealer, they should be able to give you an application.

That actually makes a lot of sense...should have thought of that...durrrh... Too obvious I guess. :D

But Mark_88 might have given me enough info to identify it anyway...the ports in the intake gasket are indeed round and the cylinder holes in the head gasket measure about 2.6" by my caliper. So it would appear to be a 2.0 kit.

Thanks for the assistance! :icon_thumby:
