Hey everyone!I own a 2008 Ranger XL with 2.3 DOHC.She's the first new vehicle I ever owned and first vehicle that the AC worked.Factory warranty's about to run out and I bought a triple gauge set with oil pressure, water temp, and ammeter.Factory cluster only has small unmarked temp gauge and dummy lights.I can hook in water and oil easily enough.but the ammeter's trying to be difficult.I spliced into the fusible link;no draw(was getting voltage though,12v with multitester..The instructions mentioned horn relay;ranger's horn is run by smart junction box.Is that worth trying? Is an ammeter a bad idea anyway?I know not to try and hook in to the starter itself...what about the starter relay.According to my book,it's a "mini ISO relay...that works by providing ground through PCM to starter selonoid. That doesn't sound promising. Also, generator puts out 65 amps/110 max!!!!Sweet jesus, that's almost enough to power a small house!!!Is this just a bad idea and should I just get another gauge set with voltmeter? Thanks
