Does anyone know where I can track down a motorcraft throttle position sensor for a 1987 ford ranger (2.9, 4x4 auto transmission)? I’ve gotten two different ones from other companies and the voltages are off, closed throttle is over 1v on both even with the idle screw not stopping the throttle plate. I’m unable to find a motorcraft one for my truck for some reason.

What Ford number did you come up with? I came up with
E77F9B989AA

There is one on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/185254135402

Put that number in a google search if its the right one. Several places came up but a lot of them are out of stock.

I see two part numbers
e6tz-9b989-b (several on eBay)
e7tz-9b989-a (several on eBay)

You can also search either of these numbers on rearcounter.com and find sellers with the part in stock.

Guessing the E6 number is 86-early 87 models and the E7 is mid 87-92 models.

Probably doesnt matter though

e7tz-9b989-a looks like a match for me based on the offset index slot. I was only able to turn up one on eBay that was motorcraft brand. e6tz-9b989-b is not a fit for me, the index slot is centered on that one. Thanks all.
