Help I recently did a motor swap hap to put camshaft synchronizer assembly into new motor i bought the synchronizer locking tool it came with 4 different caps 2 of the 4 fit my vehicle i began by finding top dead center on compression stroke i read in my Haynes manual that the camshaft position sensor should be appox 60 degrees from center-line after numerous attempt with both synchronizer at every different angles and degrees off center-line it seems it does not matter where it points as long as i am at TDC on compression stroke and synchronizer locking tool in place i get the same results engine fires up runs and sounds great at idle as soon as i rap the peddle it seems really sluggish and slow throttle response i have done compression check on motor all cylinders are in specs i pulled plugs and they have a good spark and they all look the same in color a very light brown color i hav'nt road tested the truck no tags just back and forth in driveway so no codes as of yet it runs fine at idle does not heat up no smoke from exhaust i bought the engine and the guy is helping me with getting it running he is original owner of the engine we are both stumped as to why this engine seems to lack power

What engine size?

And what year is the new engine?

Cam position sensor is used to fine tune sequential fuel injection for best MPG, doubt that it would be related to the lack of power.
CPS install read here: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/camshaft_position_sensor_cmp.shtml

Did you just use the heads and block from new engine and use your original upper and lower intake on the new engine.

Holy crap that was hard to read. There is this thing on the keyboard called a period, . , use it a little more.

Specs of the new motor would help.
