The engine and ECU that was in my truck was a 91 H.O. from a T-bird. It had a cracked in the cylinder wall and flooded the engine with water. I picked up another engine and was told it was a 302 H.O. from a mustang. The camshaft in this engine doesn't have much for identifying marks on it. The back of the cam has 97 and three dots stamped on it. The other side of the last journal of the cam has yellow paint on it, and on the shaft just behind the distributor gear it has a series of x's stamped all the way around the shaft and the letters T.E. stamped above it.
The only thing I was able to come up with is that this cam is from a 94 and up 351w and 302 truck motor, p/n F4TZ-6250-A. Also that this cam has twice as much overlap, different timing, lift and duration than the 302 H.O cam.
Does anyone know anymore information on this cam or where I can find the exact specs?
The original cam from my engine had pitting on the lobes from rust and I can't reuse it. I don't want to go any further with the engine build until I know more about this cam. Thanks for any help.
