Camshaft question

Does anyone here know if you need to remove the engine to change out the camshaft on the 2.8 motor? Also, is there anything else worth doiing while replacing the camshaft (timing gear? lifters? etc).

I don't have a hoist and was curious if I could do it within the engine bay.

Thank you in advance

If you remove the radiator, A?C condensor and trans cooler (if equipped) it is possible to get the cam out. I actually heard a rumor (friend of a friend stuff) about a guy that would do 2.9 cam bearings with the engine in place. He pulled the cooling stuff and would pop them in through the grill.
