Camshaft position sensor

My 03 has a error code reading the camshaft position sensor and when looking online I see the whole unit and the top of it for sale where the wired plug in. I was wondering if you could just buy the black electric piece and replace it?

Yes, you can buy just the sensor.

I suggest replacing the shaft and sensor cap.It needs to be done (about)every100k.The part wears out!!!!!!!Without replacement,squeeks,timing issues,&Pinging,More Issues!If you hear squeeks stand on your bumper and put your finger,thumb on the sensor(located towards the top rear of the engine by the firewall).looks like a small distributor with a tiny approx. 1" cap.(Distributor went there on older vehicles).It has small wires.Not large.See if you feel the squeeks.
