I am fitting a custom Megasquirt 3X (MS3X) ECU to my 1997 4.0L Ford Ranger Engine that I am swapping into my 1990 Bronco II. To correctly assemble the ECU I am trying to figure out what type of Camshaft and Crankshaft sensor are used in the 4.0 motor. I'm assuming the crank signal comes from a VR/Magnetic sensor but I can't find for the life of me anywhere online what type of sensor is used for the cam signal. I need to figure out if the camshaft signal sensor is a VR/Magnetic sensor, hall sensor, open-collector hall sensor, optical sensor, or logic sensor (This is the section of the megasquirt manual I'm trying to figure out http://www.msextra.com/doc/pdf/html/MS3XV30_Hardware-1.5.pdf/MS3XV30_Hardware-1.5-93.html). If any of you can shed some light on what type of sensor is used for the camshaft that would be a great help and also confirming that the Crankshaft is a Magnetic sensor.

The cam sensor is a three wire sensor so it cant be VR/Magnetic. The crank is only 2 wires so I'm almost sure its magnetic.

Its a hall effect sensor. Found it being called a hall effect sensor on O'Reilly's website and the design of the sensor and Synchronizer match the diagram.
