My credo
Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Plan for it as best you can.
Everything camping wise seems to be specific to a particular camper or item. So, I figured I would create a more generic one.

Here is a couple from my last tent camping trip.

Is that a "tent hammock" in the corner of the pic? Been thinking of getting one.

Just regular hammocks but I do have a couple camping hammocks I need to try out. I've camped out in the one I'm taking a picture of the turkey from. Had a tarp hung over top. It worked well enough except for the mosquitoes. I recommend Hennessy or ENO if you are going to make the leap. Buy once cry once.

Are the comfortable sleeping in? I dont really like sleeping on my back so kinda thinking I'm gonna spend money on something I hate, but I do alot of hiking camping in the mountains where a normal tent is almost impossible to set up because, well, it's a mountain full of boulders not flat ground. I use a bivy now which ain't great but works if you can find a crevice to lay in lol.

Sleeping in a hammock on a cool night will freeze you... I forget what they call it but they have an insulating layer you put under also.

you seen a cot tent... I was thinking one of those. But there is no packing it in.... to heavy and bulky.

Not real easy to explain in type but you need to have a ridge line that sets the hammock at the correct angle and you lay and an angle, not straight in line with the ropes. Both make sleeping on a hammock pretty darn comfortable and you can lay on your side. I've used the camo one on military flights to and from deployments quite a few times and slept right through most of the 9 or so hour flights.

Can you give me some brands/models to look at?

Yes, if it gets pretty cool at night, you will get cold. A sleeping bag will help but an under quilt is a better option since it addresses the real cause of being cold.

Hennessy Hammock or ENO are the ones to look at. There was one that someone posted about on facebook that I don't remember the brand but it had pretty good reviews from those who bought one on amazon.

Thanks, gonna check them out

In Florida I use my snugpak jungle hammock it has a mosquito net you can get more information on Bushcraft USA forum

Do you have one of their emergency blankets too? If so... what did you think of it?

I have a Grand Truck Hammock... big guy version. I also have a slumber jack satellite trap. Never used both of them together... they stay in my bugout bag.

I’ve posted it before, but i like posting pics.
