Well my little Kodak camera died on me. RIP.
It has been through hell.
Bogging with my bike and my brother dropped it in the water (mofo!)
Taking pictures of the Wildfire down here in Georgia, etc.
Good memories.
I had to reflect on that moment with yall.

Anyways
I am currently looking for a new camera. I want it to shoot movies and take pictures and nightvision (maybe). I want the camera to be able to zoom in and out when I film videos and for pictures. I am willing to spend 100-350 bucks for one. If you know what kind of camera can do this, please give me a link. thank you.

I do a lot of photography (35mm), and I have even won some awards (BC, Oregon, Queensland), I have a cheap digital camera that I'm not a fan of its an old Sony Cyber shot. Its a decent camera for the average person, but I'm still oldschool and like film. If your just looking for a point and shoot camera, I'd look at any of the big brand names for cameras (stay away from Sony, they have had a major down turn in quality, and are relying on just he name now). For the average person, 95% of the digital cameras out there are good enough for what you need. Its when you get up to the point of Bob's photography, then you really start worrying about the bigger stuff. I'd look for a point and shot camera (Digital, I'm assuming) in about the $200 range in a brand name and that should get you more then you need. Just my $0.02, then again, I think ass backwards sometimes.

Check out the Canon PowerShot series.

I'm on my second Canon - the only reason I replaced the first one is that I wanted a bigger optical zoom. They've both worked great on several continents and never let me down.

I agree. Sony builds junk anymore...

I don't believe that the Canon Powershot I have has night vision capability, but for $150, you can't beat it with a stick. I was talked into buying it after a long search because being used to using Canon AE-1 cameras (big, heavy 35mm), I wanted something that didn't feel like a feather and filled my hands a bit. The Powershot fit the bill nicely. I believe I have the A530, 5 megapixels, somethin like 8x zoom plus 8x digital and enough settings to please anyone. I got mine from http://www.newegg.com, and picked up a 1 gig card for another $10 (not a Canon card, I forget the brand offhand, but it was a good one).

camera?

I've been using a Kodak Easy Share CX7530 for over three years now, take it wheelin with me all the time, works great, many modes and takes video too.
Even dropped it once because the case wasn't zipped and it still works great.

Stylus 770SW

When I was in the fire acedamy one of the guys bought the perfect camera for you. it was the Stylus 770SW it is freeze proof, shock proof, waterproof up to 33 ft., and crush proof with 7.1mega pixel. I think It was $350 I think. But this sounds like what you need.

Bob is definitely the guru here, but I think the OP is missing a zero for Bob's stuff. Bob's camera is not at all cheap....

I've been playing around with a Pentax Ist (stupid name), but it's currently about twice the stated budget. I do like the digital SLR approach as you get REAL zoom rather than just making bigger pixels. But they cost.

As for rugged, I bought a Fisher Price camera for my 2 year old for Christmas, for less than $20. It's built for that....and he has yet to break it (not for lack of trying). It takes OK pictures. No zoom.

As for video, in your price range, you're using Hi-8. Not digital, unless you're willing to settle for very short clips. And be careful about your specs, because my cell phone satisfies all of them except for night-vision (but that camera is CRAP).

I am sold on Canon its been AAA+ for me.
