i have an '08 ranger with a 3" lift and it just aint cuttn it. I want to prerunner it but kinda spent all my money on the ranger so im trying to go low budget for the time being. Is there any other kit that that i can get the same results but for less coin? Its a 2wd btw.... any hep would be great!

My advice, fabtech uca's for additional travel and a good set of shocks...I am goin with f-o-a shocks and their coils. They are cheap and everyone that has them seems to love them. Or, save up for a little while and have a custom shop make you some. you could get away with spending around 1500 for extended uca's and lca's. the rear is important too. good luck man.

It just depends on what your ultimate goal is for the truck. If you just want the "look" then getting the fabtech kit might not be a bad choice for you. However if you plan on actually leaving the pavement I would hold off until you have enough money for the Camburg kit. The fabtech kit keeps the weak upper ball joints, and the bump stop it comes with puts all of its pressure on that point. The Camburg kit replaces them with a 1" uni-ball and replaces the cast spindle with a nice boxed and gusetted unit.

i drive it more in the dirt than i do on the pavement.haha but i just broke my front left spindle tho so that just set me back even more but from what ive seen the camburg is the way to go. so thanks for the input!

x1000 on camburg

when you order the kit also add the gusset kit.

plus i will be able to help you out and get you a bumper built just mounted the bender last night.

i off road my truck pretty hard and i didnt go with any kits haha.. i know you guys are gonna be like wtf but i have a ranger edge so i cranked up the torsion keys 3 inches and replaced the keys as well. i made up a nice pair of front uca that works with my stock spindle i know its stock but i was able to make my uca with a drop down that fixed the annoying tow in and gave more travel. i havent had any problems with my front end at all. it works great with some bilsteins the front end cost me about $400 in all shocks included. i know that kits are better but im on a budget to and the front costing $400 and my rear costing me $500 im ecstatic with the results and durability it has. plus it has some decent travel. and i know im prob gonna get ragged on but i was just throwing that out there.

What does the gusset kit do. And before some one says "Replaces the gussets" or some other smart ass reply :) What are gussets?

The gusset kit is to re-enforce the upper control arm mounts. You can make it yourself but its kind of a wash in price. They get welded on I have a pick somewhere, but that would mean I'd have to get up. lol

i know this is really old, but i found this and it was really helpful. ill be getting the 5.5 system when i have the money for it. sounds like a bangin suspension kit.

imo the kit above is a better buy. you get better shocks (they're rebuildable and revalvable), a new lower control arm that is boxed, new upper control arm, a fabricated spindle, better springs (the camburg ones like to wear out and sag so you don't get any lift from them), all hardware and limit straps, plus the best thing is full heim steering, a $400 upgrade over the camburg kit that still retains the stock outer tie rod. for the OP who spends more time off road than on, this is my choice for the way to go.

i once had the dream to have the camburg kit but that was two years ago. i ended up with the bms kit. i love it i will never go back to a stock lower.
