Hey all, new to the forum. I have an 87 4x4 ranger, just replaced upper and lower ball joints and now my camber is off. I put the camber adjusting nut in the same spot it was in, it almost seems impossible not to. It either goes in forwards or backwards. I'm wondering if I did something stupid like press the ball joints in to deep? Or slightly uneven? I pressed them in and they had a clip. There is no play, and I figured if they were pressed to far or slightly uneven, that tightening down as much as possible would get them right.
Kind of a pain taking the axles out to re do the ball joints, but I'm afraid that's what needs to be done.
I took it to a shop for an alignment, since I also replaced tie rods and they "dont do camber"..."old trucks are like that" "it's not that bad"....
Guess I am on my own.

Basically, has anyone had this happen?

Id find a different shop

I’m with rusty. Find a different shop. There is no good reason they can’t make the necessary adjustments.

Find a shop with OLD techs. They might charge more but you gotta think, most the guys who worked with I beams on a common basis have long since retired.

Although Econolines use them as do superduties....so you think theyd get some training in them?

No new springs correct? Did the springs happen to get out of place when the arm was hanging down? You didn't install any new bushings either correct?
