ive been having idle issues and i was wondering if a 30 over bore on the 302 will run with the stock lift cam?

An over bore has no effect on the stock cam
It will run fine.

Newly rebuilt? Change anything recently? Did it run before you changed anything? More info would be needed to diagnose the problem i'm guessing.

if it won't idle at all in park, sounds like a carb and or vac. leak somewhere.

its a fresh rebuild done by me. it did run before and all i did was go 30 over and replace everything stock other than the intake, and obviously put headers on it. edelbrock performer 600cfm(electric choke), summit racing street & strip stage 1 intake. and i just cant get it to idle i can hold the throttle (when it actuallys starts) at 800rpm if i let got it dies out. also has the duraspark 2 ignition( i dont know how old it is)

Try advancing the timing to around 38 degrees total timing at 3000 rpm. The stock timing will never work on that engine. aget it to idle and take a piece of vacuum tubing about 2 feet and put it up to your ear and search around for vacuum leaks on all the gaskets and fittings especially around the base of the carb. The best way to time a 302 in with total advance. Hook the advance direct up to manifold vacuum and then it is a matter of trial and error. move the advance to around 20 degrees before tdc at an idle and take it for a drive at medium speeds floor it if it pings retard it a little if not advance it a little then try it again. What you want is for the engine to almost ping under a load at medium speeds 45 to 55 mph. you need to adjust the carb every time you change the timing for the highest lean idle rpm or vacuum pressure. Just keep doing that until you find the sweet spot. Advance it until it pings a little then back off a couple degrees dial in the carb and you shold be good to adjust the choke. Make sure it is up to temp before adjusting anything and the choke is all the way open.

Start with timing. If its not wright any carb will give you a headache.
When you installed the balancer did you make sure your timing pointer was pointing at TDC or 0* when the piston was at true TDC?
If not check using a piston stop. Then set the timing as stated above.

i got it figured out, compression tested to find tdc. set the timing to 19 degrees before tdc and now she idles at 750. also i did a tune up and replaced everything ignition based. thanks for the help
