Cam bearing location?

I've been trying to adjust the rockers to eliminate top end ticking that my 89' Ranger is plagued with. If i set the rockers properly here tonight and i'm still getting ticking where would i locate the cam bearing that feeds oil to the upper valvetrain to inspect it for replacement. Where would i find a cam bearing as well in case it gets that far?

Changing the cam bearings requires special tools and you may need to remove the engine from the truck and tear it down at least partially to replace them. I wonder if it would be possible to bypass the cam bearings without starving the rest of the engine for oil. If it is possible it may be less invasive than changing the bearings

Front timing cover needs to come off (accessories, but the water pump can stay), will have to pull the harmonic balancer. Might have to pull oil pan if there are studs from the cover through the oil pan bolt holes. Next you have remove the chain tensioner, timing set/cam bolt, thrust plate that's holding in the cam, then very carefully remove the cam shaft. Might be able to flip the engine upside down on a stand to keep the lifters off the cam, push rods would need to come out (I would probably just unbolt the pedestals and mark which cylinder/valve the push rod went with) - can't get the lifters out with out pulling the heads and those ride on the camshaft lobes. And finally once the cam is out, the bearings are in the block. I would have a machine shop replace them if they're shot IMO. But that's a lot of work!
