Calling all Americans!!!

In the past I've sent packages of stuff to the guys and gals overseas. Just go to your local recruiting station and ask them how to send care packages to them. I've sent them batteries, candy, CD's, books, anything to help them out with getting along over there. It makes you feel good inside. I even got a letter from a chaplain one time explaining how grateful he and his troops were for all we've done for them. Let's help our vets and troops out America!

I like tge sticker/decal idea. Whatever you decide, you've got my support!

Not surprised DG:D Me too. My wife and I ran the local "Cattle Baron's Ball" for the American Cancer Society for about 3 years. We raised close to $750k for ACS. It doesn't take a lot to make a huge difference.

You guys mentioned stickers;

What if we came up with a special full color TRS/Wounded Warrior support sticker and this member bar:

wounded_warrior_supporter_badge.PNG

Then we set a minimum donation limit. If you make the minimum donation limit to the Wounded Warriors, you send me confirmation/receipt of your payment, and I send you the sticker and add you in to a member group to where that member bar shows up under your name for (1) year. I'd be willing to pay the costs of sending the sticker to you as part of my contributions.

This way you send the money to them and I don't have to worry that you guys think I'm using the money to buy donuts.

i like that idea Jim.

Sounds like a plan boss man

Heh heh, donuts...I'm down with the sticker idea. The mother of a guy I went to school with got hit by an IED over there and passed. She was a nice lady. I'm not the military type of guy (scaredy cat) but, I really appreciate the guys/gals that are. My dad served for about thirty years as well and is still a contractor for the army.

The whole idea sounds GREAT, Count me in.

Ron V :) :) :)

PS Would never cross my mind as to where the funds went with you handling it Jim. If you want to collect it and mail it all in one amount it's OK with me.

Not something I was personally involved in, but thought I'd post it up anyway.

A charity chilli cook-off in my town this weekend raised a little over $3000 for Wounded Warrior this weekend.

My brother is an Army Ranger and done 2 tours in Iraq, 2 Tours in Afghan, he said his Special Forces team appreciates all the stuff people send to them. He helps out the WWP, hes seen easily 30+ of friends die and easily 50+ become wounded. I told him about TRS helpin out, and he just got a smile on his face and said thats F*ckin Awesome.

Threads like this make me smile, one of the reasons I love this site so much.

I'm down for whatever you decide Jim.

I am game for the sticker idea. It should be that the member donates to a veterans cause in their country though since we have a diverse membership and maby put the earth on it instead of a flag to cover all our members.
