Im new to the site, great site BTW, thought id start off with a question. Has anybody put the Triton V10 from a superduty in a ranger im unfamillar with these motors, such as displacement, and physical engine size. Ive never worked with one. Just think itd be unique.

It'd definitely be unique; however, some serious hackin' and wackin' would be necessary to get that baby in there. Also, that's a lot of power in there, reinforcing the frame would most likely be a must. But hey, if you've got the tools, money, and time, go for it.

Yeah alot of cheap V10 superduty work trucks out here left over from the construction boom. Tools and Money shouldnt be an issue, its the time. Unfourtuneately for us workin' folk you either have the time or money cant have both. Just wondering if anyone has tried or seen it cause that would be wicked.

probally would have to stretch the front fenders frame to, personall i would drop the ranger body on a superduty frame, and stretch fenders/push firewall back accordonally

+1

I think the V10 is somewhere around 6.4L. I've never seen one, but I would imagine it would be quite the tight fit.

it's a "534"

And it looks like the box a pair of 460's would come in...

To be honest if there is a difference in weight or bulk between a 534 Fods gas V8 and a 32xx series Cat Diesel (they are DESIGNED to replace one another) you'll never see it.

back about 1982 I had a TT cat engine that I wanted to put in
a 1ton International 4x4... woulda been sweet...
But as it turned out the person selling the IH backed out of the deal and someone offered me twice what I had in the cat engine and the trans that was bolted to it so I took the money...

Good Idea. But if i were to do it I would like to preserve the size and wieght of the ranger

Putting that motor in WILL increase the weight. That is like having 2 Ranger motors in at once.
"were there's a will, there's a way"!
Without stretching the front fenders, You WILL have to cut out a big chunk of the fire wall. The last 4 cylinders (2 per side) will be behind the firewall.

The V10 superduty engine is a 6.8L.

There not really all that impresssive, they have the same bore/stroke/cam profiles as a 5.4L, now, an 8.0L mopar V10...that would be cool.

later,
Dustin
