Cabin Filter

Anybody changed there's yet? I just watched the Youtube video. Its looks very simple. I see O'reillys has a Wix available for 18.99

My experience on the Texas Gulf Coast with our constant High Humidity and allergens these filters get funky real quick. I went 1 year on the F150. and it was bad. So I probably need to change more often

1983-2011 North American Rangers never had cab air filters

The International T6 Rangers did and I assume the 2019/20 North American Ranger do and will have them since they are based on the T6 platform

My service and owner's manual both say it's behind the glove box. The owner's manual tells you to take it to the dealer for it to be changed (surprise, surprise). The service manual shows releasing a couple tabs to release the cover after removing the glove compartment. Remove and replace the cabin air filter and reinstall the cover and the glove box. Much more simple than my CR-Vs were.

As far as replacing the filter, I haven't done that yet. I'll probably look it during spring maintenance to see if it needs changing yet or not. I have never had to change the filter any more often than specified in the manual in the past with any vehicles I've had in the past that were equipped with one.

I'm assuming this is the one you were referring to? It's the Aussie Ranger... probably the same or very similar?

That looks very similar to what the service manual shows. Mine doesn't have the mechanism for the slow drop of the glove box, so that may be a world Ranger or Australia only feature.

Never understood the point of cabin filters. They just clog with gunk and are PAST the evaporator core. Putting a easy access filter BEFORE the evap core would make sense. To protect the evap core from getting clogged.

One thing GM did right, open the glove box, turn 2 hand knobs and pull the filter out. Takes 10 seconds to throw a new filter in the GMs I've done. (Malibi, acadia, and Sierra)

My ranger doesn't have one, the mkx was too hard to ever bother with, never even looked at the fiesta.

It depends on the vehicle design. In my CR-Vs, the filter was sandwiched between the evaporator and the heater core with the evaporator after the filter. I haven't had a look at the system in the Ranger yet to say one way or the other where the filter sits.
