cab swap

i have a '85 ranger, and i found a '91 cab,any difference in bare cabs,other than the differentt fenders and grill

The interior is different, but can be swapped so not that different. As far as I know the mounts are the same.

Should be the same...as long as they are both either standard or extended cabs...but the front two and middle two are actually the same for both cabs...

yeah, sorry both are regular cabs,thanks.and yeah i knew about interiors,but the is none in the 91 cab

I learned pretty quick that putting an Extended cab on a standard cab frame is not an easy task without a good welder and some mods to the back of the cab...it's pretty easy swap if you have a hoist or forklift...I did my cab removal with a forklift...and put the engine/tranny in with a forklift also...makes it much easier

Are you swapping due to rust or damage?

well....i have a 85,and due to rust,there isn't much to the rocker,cab corner any more.i had welded it once already,and i noticed a few more rust holes in the passenger side.i have replaced the driver's side floor pan, rad support,box...........lol

Yeah i hear you...I found my first ranger was really rusted...the clutch pedal went low one day...turned out the master cylinder broke away from the firewall...

My new cab is virtually rust-free though...excellent shape for an 88...the junkyard wanted $600 for a replacment cab alone...I paid $500 for he whole truck...
