I didn't know where else to put this so i hope i don't get flamed to much. What size bolts are used for the cab mount bolts on a 1997 ranger XLT extended cab 4x4? I need to know the size so i can order some new ones. I looked at lmc but they didn't have sizes.

honestly, that will depend on how they come out. all too often (especially the very front bolts) they are rusted in pretty good and have to be drilled out. if your bolts are rusty that may very well be the case. then most just get 1/2", grade 8 bolts for replacements.
if you are just replacing the bolts, might as well get new body mounts for it. i replaced them when i did my body lift. money very well spent for the much nicer ride. less than $150 for 2" bl and new mounts, iirc.

good luck with your project and welcome to TRS!

they are gonna need to be completely replaced for sure. I am replacing the body mounts so i need as close to the factory bolt size as i can get because the local gov are Nazi's when it comes to stuff like that. Believe me they check for that. Also i live to far from any hardware store so i need the right bolt size so i don't have to keep ordering more and more if its the wrong size.

if you're just replacing the mounts, you'll need the same length as the ones you pull out. they are metric and just under 1/2" bolts which is why when you drill them out, you usually use a 1/2" drill bit then get 1/2", grade 8 bolts of the correct length to replace them. hopefully, most will come out ok and you can measure one for them for the length. here is a good read from the tech library here: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/bodymount_lift.htm

i know it includes the lift kit, but it's all basically the same for just doing the mounts.

I was hoping to get the size because i don't have the option to really pull a bolt out to measure then order some and wait two weeks for them to get here. I guess ill try my best to measure them while they are still in.

just add an inch to your measurement. the new mounts will most likely be thicker as they are new. what ever excess bolt length there is can be cut off. didn't save my old ones or i'd measure one for you. good luck with the project.
