My C5 is leaking between the case and bellhousing. It is roughly a constant 3/16" stream that runs down the pan (eventually wicking around and soaking it making it look guilty until I crawled under with the truck running) and then it drips directly on the LH exhaust pipe and dramatically smokes as it burns off. Everything actually inside the bellhousing itself including the torque converter is dry (it is still in the truck though so I can't see everything) There is some lag, it takes a little bit for it to start dripping and eventually running and when you shut it off it dribbles until after the exhaust is too hot to burn it off and it puddles.
I have read all sorts of things from the front pump o-ring to the TC seal could be causing it... any theories on here? Is there something else that could be screwing up and forcing fluid out there as well?
I am going nuts missing my truck and when I finally get a chance to pull the tranny out I want to hit the nail on the head and not have to pull it again until I have everything in line for a 5 speed swap.
It just drips when it is cold and with the stream going there is too much smoke to get a pic:
